Steward's Report
Inga Charlie was quick to begin.
Inga Sadie and Mt. View Lady collided soon after the start. Inga Sadie and Elite Patty collided on the first turn; checking both greyhounds. Pumpkin Pete turned its head out and collided with Inga Charlie on the home turn, checking Inga Charlie. Pumpkin Pete and Inga Sadie collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight; checking both greyhounds.
Pumpkin Pete underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg abrasion and right hindleg calf injuries a five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr William Robertson, trainer of Pumpkin Pete regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Pumpkin Pete was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Robertson pleaded guilty to the charge, Pumpkin Pete was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Money Wheel underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the left foreleg and right hindleg paws, and lumbo-sacral and right foreleg wrist injuries; a seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Franklin, the trainer of Money Wheel regarding its performance on the home turn. After hearing evidence from Mr Franklin, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71 Money Wheel must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
