Steward's Report
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute due to a Harness Race at Pinjarra WA running behind schedule.
Liverpool Street was slow to begin.
Chasing Chops checked off Orford Bale on the first turn. Downton Ivy and Orford Bale collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Orford Bale marred Belle Yaraki approaching the winning post.
Orford Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was to have an injury to the right deltoid muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Breanna Robertson-Leech, the trainer of Orford Bale regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Orford Bale was charged with marring. Ms Robertson-Leech pleaded guilty to the charge, Orford Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 Days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
