Steward's Report
All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.1 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Milski and President collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Jean Crisp and Tink Mcdonald collided on the first turn checking Tink Mcdonald. Tink Mcdonald and President collided several times approaching the home turn. Tink Mcdonald, President and He's For Us collided approaching the home turn severely checking all three greyhounds who all fell as a result. Tink Mcdonald, President and He's For Us took no further part in the remainder of this event.
Tink Mcdonald underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
President underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right quadriceps muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
He's For Us underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
He's For Us – Stewards were satisfied with the boxing of the greyhound and removed the boxed first endorsement for future events in accordance with GAR 52.
