Steward's Report
Chill Out Berty turned it's head outwards soon after the start. Chill Out Berty raced wide soon after the start checking Twilight Sofia and Short Tail Lomar. Twilight Sophia checked off Short Tail Lomar on the first turn. Twilight Sofia and Short Tail Lomar collided several times approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Chill Out Berty and Dan's Butler collided in the home straight.
Chill Out Berty underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Michael Chilcott, the representative of Chill Out Berty regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Chill Out Berty was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge, Chill Out Berty was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
