Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Halberd Bale.
Dark Compass and More Speed were slow to begin.
Mallee Swan, Masked Avenger and Aston Lee collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn; checking More Speed; severely checking Mallee Swan and Masked Avenger. Mallee Swan galloped on the heels of Masked Avenger approaching the home turn. McIvor Ernie raced wide in the home straight.
Masked Avenger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hindleg. A three day stand down period was imposed.
