How High Austin was slow to begin.
Jeza You Beauty crossed out soon after the start checking How High Austin and Ricky Racoon. Ricky Racoon and Kuta Cowboy collided approaching the 300m mark. Jeza You Beauty, How High Austin and Kuta Cowboy collided several times from the 250m mark to the 200m mark checking all three greyhounds. Ricky Racoon looked in at the 200m mark. Jeza You Beauty and How High Austin collided approaching the 150m mark checking both greyhounds. Jeza You Beauty, How High Austin and Kuta Cowboy collided approaching the 100m mark checking Jeza You Beaty and How High Austin. Ricky Racoon crossed out, visibly eased and collided with Moonshine Miss from the 100m mark to approaching the winning post.
Ricky Racoon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have multiple abrasions on both hind legs, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Colin Baker regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Ricky Racoon was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Baker pleaded guilty to the charge, Ricky Racoon was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
