Steward's Report

Pursuant to GAR 104 (7) Starter, D. Robertson did not act in any official capacity for this event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Barbados Dream.

Send It Socks was quick to begin.  Pyrenees Steele was slow to begin. 

Ashby Swift and Kanga Lights collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Kanga Lights and Send It Socks collided approaching the first turn.  Top Right and Papa Panda collided on the first turn.  Kanga Lights and Pyrenees Steele collided on the home turn.  Barbados Dream checked off Top Right and collided with Pyrenees Steele and Papa Panda on the home turn.  Barbados Dream and Pyrenees Steele collided entering the home straight. 

Kanga Lights underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. S. Coulson regarding the greyhound performing below market expectation. Mr Coulson explained that the greyhound started shorter in the market than it ought to and that the greyhound races better when leading. Mr Coulson added that he expected the greyhound to place if it was able to lead the event.
