In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 17.9 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 16.2 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

All persons attending today checked-in, wore face-masks indoors and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

Emerald Lake was slow to begin.

Brother Bucks and Miss Bazaar collided soon after the start.  Brother Bucks checked off Takeshi Fernando at the 200m mark.

Together We Can was slow to begin.

Three Johns checked off Penny Moments at the 250m mark.  Three Johns and Hillbilly Pearl collided several times from the 200m mark to the 150m mark.  Three Johns checked off Hillbilly Pearl at the 50m mark.  Three Johns and Hillbilly Pearl collided approaching the winning post checking Three Johns.

Bucked Head and Nana Pat were slow to begin.

Sassy Boo and Princess Peggy collided soon after the start.  She's The One and Sassy Boo collided several times from the 250m mark to the 100m mark.  Nana Pat and Princess Peggy collided several times at the 100m mark and again at the 50m mark.  She's The One checked off Sassy Boo at the 50m mark.  

She's The one underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a lumbo-sacral injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Laurie Mallia regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 100m mark.  After hearing evidence from Mr. Mallia, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 100m mark.

Nana Pat – issued a warning for boxing manners in accordance with GAR 52.

Boes Bounty and Flying Fifi were slow to begin.

Broken Boots, Knuckle Buster, Our Ryker, Boes Bounty and Flying Fifi collided soon after the start.  Knuckle Buster and Boes Bounty collided at the 250m mark.  Our Ryker crossed in approaching the 200m mark.  Knuckle Buster and Halina's Gem collided at the 100m mark.  Broken Boots and Halina's Gem collided at the 50m mark.  

Baggy's Gold and No Way Nellie were slow to begin.

Unroadworthy checked off Cairnlea Winnie approaching the 250m mark.  Baggy's Gold checked off Especial Edit approaching the 250m mark.  No Way Nellie checked off Unroadworthy at the 250m mark and again approaching the 150m mark. 

Kalbarri and Hey Cheryl were slow to begin.

Whispy Watson and Irwin Bale collided at the 300m mark.  Still In Love crossed in at the 300m mark. 

Super Switch and Mav's Magic were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Blackzin Prince and Jax Flash collided soon after the start.  Boes Bambino and Especial Elise collided soon after the start.  Blackzin Prince checked off Jax Flash at the 250m mark.  Super Switch checked off Mav's Magic at the 150m mark.  Boes Bambino and Ted Do collided at the 150m mark.  

Baby Pechey and Anita's Special collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Baby Pechey checked off Across The Sky at the 150m mark.  

Dundee Idol was slow to begin.

Hillbilly Jane and Dundee Trigger collided soon after the start and shifted to the outside at the 250m mark.

Man In Blue, Magnetic Man and Love To Deed were slow to begin.

Magnetic Man and My My My collided soon after the start.  Love To Deed and Hillbilly Joker collided several times approaching the winning post.

Hillbilly Joker underwent a post-race veterinary examination due an incident in the catching pen. No apparent injury was reported.

It was noted that the muzzle of Pocket Ruby became dislodged during the running of the event.

Ivy's Bobby and Tom For Shaw were slow to begin.

Fletch and Maxi Mal collided soon after the start.  Ivy's Bobby and Tom For Shaw collided several times from the 250m mark to the 150m mark checking Tom For Shaw.  Claretown Dermot and Draconic Lad raced wide throughout the event. 

Meeting Comments:

Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr Neil Mason, regarding the greyhound Jenny's Chances being brought on-course at today's race meeting with the intention of trialling the greyhound which was in breach of the GRV Hot Weather Policy where the race meeting was deemed Heat Affected, and no trials were being conducted in accordance with the policy. Mr Mason pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250 wholly suspended for a 12-month period pending no further breaches under GAR 86(ag). In assessing penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr. Mason's record, his tenure in the greyhound racing industry as a licensed person and his remorse.
