Steward's Report

All persons attending today, checked-in and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 25 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.9 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, the Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 1 meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.

A sample was taken from War Drum Express upon arrival at the course.

Golden Quest underwent a veterinary examination at the starting boxes and was declared a late scratching at 6:15pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Gintoki Bale was quick to begin.  War Drum Express and Back Net collided soon after the start.  Showtime Boomer checked off Gintoki Bale soon after the start.  Showtime Boomer and Back Net collided on the first turn and again on the second turn.  War Drum Express and Showtime Boomer collided on the third turn.  Tobin Frost marred Gintoki Bale on the home turn checking Gintoki Bale and Aston Jonas.  Back Net marred Tobin Frost in the home straight.

Tobin Frost was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr T. King, Representative, of Tobin Frost regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Tobin Frost was charged with marring.  Mr King pleaded guilty to the charge, Tobin Frost  was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Back Net was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Mr P. Jones, Trainer of Back Net regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight..  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Back Net was charged with marring.  Mr  Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Back Net  was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
