Steward's Report
All persons attending today, checked-in and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Maximum Ang, a post-race blood sample was subsequently taken.
Alter Paddy was quick to begin. Blazing Beth was slow to begin.
Black Organza and Unakite collided soon after the start, checking Black Organza. Maximum Ang and Blazing Beth collided on the first turn; checking Blazing Beth; causing Black Organza to race wide. Black Organza and Maximum Ang collided several times in the home straight.
Black Organza underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right foreleg. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Heather Baxter regarding the racing manners of Black Organza in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Ms Baxter, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Alter Paddy - the winner of the event.
