Steward's Report
Casus Belli was slow to begin.
Kenny The Brute checked off Mepunga Warrior soon after the start. Venus Light crossed in approaching the first turn checking War Drum Express and severely checking Overflow Lisa. Kenny The Brute, which was trailing, checked off Overflow Lisa on the first turn when it was losing ground. Mepunga Warrior crossed in entering the front straight severely checking Venus Light causing Venus Light to race wide. Mepunga Warrior, which was leading, commenced to lose ground from approaching the fifth turn and through the home turn to eventually finish last. My Father's Son and War Drum Express collided approaching the home turn.
Mepunga Warrior underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid injury, left and right shin soreness. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
