Impingement was slow to begin.
Impingement and Love So Pure collided soon after the start. Deb's Wish and Turtle Fernando collided approaching the first turn checking Deb's Wish; causing Deb's Wish to brush the running rail. Impingement and Charlott's Blaze collided approaching the first turn checking Impingement. Tiggerlong Indi and Love So Pure collided on the first turn checking Tiggerlong Indi. Impingement contacted the running rail approaching the home turn checking Deb's Wish. Tiggerlong Indi and Deb's Wish collided in the home straight.
Impingement underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the sacro-iliac joint and the tail base. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
