Steward's Report
As the amber light was activated for this Event, a bolt of thunder and lightning struck overhead. Stewards aborted the start and directed all greyhounds be returned to the kennels to ensure there would be no further activity. Acting in accordance with the GRV Lightning and Thunderstorm Safety Procedure, racing was suspended at 7.17 pm to ensure a safety zone around the Club. As a result, the meeting was delayed and races re-scheduled as follows: Race 2: 7.45pm; Race 3: 8.00pm, Race 4: 8.16pm, Race 5: 8.30pm, Race 6: 8.46pm; Race 7: 9.02,pm. Race 8-12 remained as advertised.
Viking Rebel was slow to begin.
Slingshot Avril crossed to the outside soon after the start, colliding with Mick The Magpie and checking Slingshot Avril. Maggie Bow and Mick The Magpie collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.
