All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was  21.7 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.  As the outside ambient temperature dropped to 21.3 deg, Stewards dispensed Clause 12 of the Hot Weather Policy.

Viking Commander was slow to begin.

Sagrantino, White Nikita and Hange Zoe collided soon after the start checking White Nikita. Hange Zoe and Winkcup Bale collided approaching the home turn. Jerwood Bale and Sagrantino collided on the home turn. Hange Zoe and Winkcup Bale collided entering the home straight checking White Nikita and Hange Zoe. White Nikita and Hange Zoe collided in the home straight.

As the amber light was activated for this Event, a bolt of thunder and lightning struck overhead.  Stewards aborted the start and directed all greyhounds be returned to the kennels to ensure there would be no further activity.  Acting in accordance with the GRV Lightning and Thunderstorm Safety Procedure, racing was suspended at 7.17 pm to ensure a safety zone around the Club. As a result, the meeting was delayed and races re-scheduled as follows:  Race 2: 7.45pm;  Race 3: 8.00pm, Race 4: 8.16pm, Race 5:  8.30pm, Race 6: 8.46pm; Race 7: 9.02,pm.  Race 8-12 remained as advertised.

Viking Rebel was slow to begin.

Slingshot Avril crossed to the outside soon after the start, colliding with Mick The Magpie and checking Slingshot Avril. Maggie Bow and Mick The Magpie collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

This Event was rescheduled to start at 8.00pm due to a delay in Race 2.

Wicked Missile and Go Patch Go collided several times approaching the first turn checking Wicked Missile. Soleus and Aston Khan collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Aston Khan checked off King Chad on the first turn. Rogan Bale checked off Soleus approaching the home turn. Aston Khan and King Chad collided on the home turn checking Aston Khan. Wicked Missile raced wide in the home straight.

A post-race sample was taken from Soleus - the winner of the event.

This Event was rescheduled to start at 8.16pm due to a delay in Race 2.

Bilali and Into The Shed were slow to begin.

Good To Go and Bilali collided approaching the first turn. Into The Shed and Wow Star collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Bilali and Good To Go collided several times in the home straight.

This Event was rescheduled to start at 8.30pm due to a delay in Race 2.

Rush Out and Tinker Cindy collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Vernon faltered on the first turn and tailed off as a result. Mr. Blue contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Rush Out and Zipping Sixes collided entering the home straight checking Zipping Sixes. Pai Gow Poker checked off Senor Senor entering the home straight.

Zipping Vernon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right fractured hock.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. Blue underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

This Event was rescheduled to start at 8.46pm due to a delay in Race 2.

Icarus Bale and Brecken Bale collided soon after the start. Roxy Ouzo, Master Avenger and Jet Legger collided approaching the first turn checking Icarus Bale. Icarus Bale checked off Jet Legger on the first turn. Roxy Ouzo, Brecken Bale and Master Avenger collided on the home turn severely checking Master Avenger, which lost ground as a result.

Master Avenger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have Bruising to the right hind leg.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Borg the trainer of Master Avenger regarding the greyhounds performance in this event. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr. Borg to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Master Avenger in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event. 

A post-race sample was taken from Immunity - the winner of the event.

This Event was rescheduled to start at 9.02pm due to a delay in Race 2.

Nevaeh Bale and Nitro Bale were quick to begin. Speak Up was slow to begin.

Compton Blazer and True Collinda collided approaching the first turn. True Collinda and Nitro Bale collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Speak Up checked off Compton Blazer entering the home straight. Compton Blazer and True Collinda collided approaching the winning post.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ratified.

Big Gordy and Starlight Tyson were quick to begin. Grace's Spirit was slow to begin.

Grace's Spirit checked off Ollie soon after the start. Ratified checked off Eat My Dust soon after the start. Belle Ali checked off Ratified soon after the start. Grace's Spirit checked off Big Gordy approaching the second turn and again approaching the home turn. Eat My Dust and Big Gordy collided on the home turn. 

Due to a malfunction of the timing mechanism, the first split was inadvertently semaphored at 16:49 (second split).  The Judge hand timed the first split at 6.58.

Tinker Yvonne was slow to begin.

Quamby Bale and Spring Candice collided approaching the first turn. Canya Dig It checked off Six Speed Manual on the first turn. Canya Dig It checked off Six Speed Manual approaching the home turn. Spring Candice checked off Quamby Bale approaching the home turn. Tinker Yvonne brushed the running rail approaching the home turn. Tinker Yvonne raced wide on the home turn.

Parasite was quick to begin.

Ramadi Bale and Habits To Burn collided soon after the start. Miss Demonica and Ferocious Rust collided approaching the first turn. Ramadi Bale and Habits To Burn collided on the first turn. Coconino and Miss Demonica collided on the first turn. Parasite raced wide in the home straight.

Habits To Burn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

She's Serious and Rothford were quick to begin.

Rothford and Mahogany Storm collided approaching the first turn. Mahogany Storm and Tinker Count collided on the first turn checking Tinker Count. Mahogany Storm checked off Tinker Count on the home turn.

Habib and Stirling Lights were quick to begin.

Habib, Stirling Lights and Padrino Rocks collided on the first turn severely checking Habib which lost ground as a result. Padrino Rocks checked off Stirling Lights on the home turn. Disco Riot and Habib collided in the home straight. Sulva Bay and Stirling Lights collided in the home straight.

Habib underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
