Steward's Report
Fabriola Ximenez, Hurricane Harry, Emani Bale and Aston Velvet were quick to begin. Fabriola Ximenez, Hurricane Harry, Emani Bale, Aston Velvet and Jepara collided on the first turn checking Jepara. Arizona Eyes, My Father's Son, Whakahoro and Emani Bale collided on the first turn checking Emani Bale causing Emani Bale to lose ground. Fabriola Ximenez and Aston Velvet collided entering the front straight. Whakahoro and Jepara collided entering the front straight. Arizona Eyes and Whakahoro collided on the second turn. Arizona Eyes and Jepara collided entering the back straight. My Father's Son checked off Emani Bale on the fourth turn. Arizona Eyes visibly eased on the home turn and marred Hurricane Harry, checking Whakahoro.
Arizona Eyes was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to representative Mr P. Riley regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Arizona Eyes was charged with marring. Mr Riley pleaded not guilty to the charge, Arizona Eyes was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Aston Velvet, the winner of the event.
