Steward's Report
Where's Goose – Late scratching at 12:33pm due to non–arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed after Trainer Mr P. Lenehan informed Stewards that he had an air conditioning breakdown prior to leaving for the track. Stewards advised Mr. Lenehan that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 48 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
Nangar Troy and Sugar Shane were slow to begin.
Silver Compass, Nangar Troy and Sugar Shane collided on the first turn. Silver Compass and Nangar Troy collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.
A post-race sample was taken from Mouthy Boof - winner of the event.
Stewards opened an inquiry with trainer Mr Gregory Schofield, after Mr Schofield failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Nangar Troy for racing, this inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed. A pre race sample which was to be taken from the greyhound Nangar Troy, was unable to be taken to due Mr Schofield's late arrival at the kennels, a post-race sample was subsequently taken from the greyhound Nangar Troy, which was unplaced in the event.
Stewards opened an inquiry with trainer Mr Gregory Schofield,regarding his conduct following race 12. After taking evidence from Mr Schofield and relevant witnessess, this inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
