Ching Ching, Joffa's Monaro and Rower's Rule collided on the first turn checking Rower's Rule.and severely checking Joffa's Monaro. Ching Ching and Inga Leo collided on the home turn.
Joffa's Monaro underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left foreleg stopper. No stand down period was imposed.
