Steward's Report
Mazikeen Smith – Late scratching at 10.13am after a transfer of bonafides application was submitted to Stewards. In withdrawing the greyhound, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will also require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20 (3) (v), stating that Mazikeen Smith is fit to race, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Classy Stringer.
East Street was quick to begin.
Zipping Hunter and Samp De Keats were slow to begin.
Gunnadoo Grace checked off East Street approaching the home turn and collided with I'm Not Budging. Gunnadoo Grace and I'm Not Budging collided entering the home straight.
Gunnadoo Grace underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Tim Britton regarding the racing manners of Gunnadoo Grace on the home turn. After hearing evidence from Mr Britton, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued.
