Steward's Report
Forrest Elbow was quick to begin. Give Me Donuts and Icarus Bale were slow to begin.
Snowy's Sister, Forrest Elbow, Lagoona Bale and Where's Herbie collided approaching the first turn checking Lagoona Bale. Icarus Bale raced wide approaching the first turn. Forrest Elbow raced wide approaching the home turn checking Give Me Donuts and Smoking Sophie. Icarus Bale checked off Snowy's Sister in the home straight checking Forrest Elbow. Lagoona Bale turned its head outwards in the home straight and collided with Snowy's Sister.
Lagoona Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination, no apparent injury was detected. Representative Mrs L Delbridge declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mrs Delbridge regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Lagoona Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Lagoona Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
