Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Busy Izzy.
Out Of Aces and Ishmy Barry were slow to begin.
Aston Guilder and Diamond Socks collided soon after the start. Aston Guilder checked off Diamond Socks approaching the 250m mark. Busy Izzy checked off Lee Will approaching the 200m mark checking Diamond Socks. Out Of Aces and Ishmy Barry collided at the 100m mark. Ishmy Barry, Busy Izzy and Diamond Socks collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of Mr. Brent Merton, Trainer of Diamond Socks, after reports were made in regards to Mr. Merton's behaviour behind the boxes after this event. Stewards found Mr. Merton's behaviour to be detrimental to the image of greyhound racing and subsequently laid a charge under GAR 86(q). Mr. Merton pleaded guilty to the charge. Stewards finalised this inquiry via telephone on 29 October 2021, imposing a penalty of suspension for two-months (with one-month wholly suspended for a period of twelve months), in addition to fines of $500.00 that were reactivated from a previous conduct related offence on 23 September 2021.
