Dolly and Mayfair Ronnie were quick to begin.
Comeback Jack checked off Rattling Rosie on the first turn. Riverdale Tifany checked off Gecko Fernando on the first turn. Dolly crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Dolly and Mayfair Ronnie. Comeback Jack and Gecko Fernando collided approaching the home turn checking Comeback Jack. Comeback Jack checked off Gecko Fernando on the home turn. Riverdale Tifany and Big Flatty raced wide in the home straight. Rattling Rosie turned its head outwards in the home straight.
Rattling Rosie underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. David Pryse, the Kennel Representative of Rattling Rosie regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1), Rattling Rosie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Pryse pleaded not guilty to the charge, Rattling Rosie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
