Gung Ho Hunter was slow to begin.
Kraken Spike, Mac Zephyr and Sassenach collided on the first turn checking Mac Zephyr. McIvor Stretch checked off Perfect Treasure and collided with Mac Zephyr on the first turn severely checking Mac Zephyr and Butternut causing McIvor Stretch to fall as a result. Gung Ho Hunter checked off Beretta Girl in the home straight.
McIvor Stretch underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right biceps injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Mac Zephyr underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Butternut underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right calf and trangle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Sassenach - the winner of the event.
