Steward's Report
Galloping Speed was slow to begin. Tomato Tears and Mepunga Ruby collided on the first turn. Here's Tears, Pilbara and Drako Bale collided approaching the second turn checking Here's Tears. Here's Tears and Cayden Bale collided on the third turn. Mepunga Ruby checked off Major Sacrifice approaching the home turn. Pilbara and Mepunga Ruby collided on the home turn. Tomato Tears visibly eased and turned its head entering the home straight.
Tomato Tears was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right calf muscle and right hamstrings, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative, Mr R. Camilleri, regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Tomato Tears was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Camilleri pleaded guilty to the charge,Tomato Tears was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
