A pre–race sample was taken from Circumstance.
Thank You Jill and Space Cadet were quick to begin. Majestic Jewel was slow to begin.
Circumstance - Racing incident home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr S. Coulson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Circumstance was charged with marring. Mr Coulson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Circumstance was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127 and GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Tinker Murphy – the winner of the event.
