Steward's Report
Ms. M Barber, representative, requested an early race endorsement for Back Net. The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian. Back Net will compete in early races until further notice.
Mr. R Wagenaar, trainer, requested an early race endorsement for Yield. The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian. Yield will compete in early races until further notice.
Flying Jelly was quick to begin. Golden Lester was slow to begin.
Yield turned it's head inwards approaching the winning post, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined approximately 40 minutes following race 12, no apparent injury was detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr Wagenaar, the trainer of Yield regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Yield was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Wagenaar pleaded not guilty to the charge,Yield was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted
