Speed Star was quick to begin.
Black Mustang and Super Marli collided approaching the first turn. Speed Star and On The Bit collided on the first turn. Black Mustang and Aces Are Trumps collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn, checking Black Mustang. Javier Bale checked off Super Marli in the home straight.
Black Mustang underwent a post-race veterinary examination following an incident in the catching pen and was found to have right fore carpal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from On The Bit - the winner of the event.
