Riverdale Goldie and Who Did That were quick to begin. Ulyana Bale and Riverdale Tommy were slow to begin.
Saint Jett and Gleaming collided approaching the first turn. Saint Jett checked off Gleaming on the first turn. Ulyana Bale visably eased on the first turn and pulled up as a result. Riverdale Tifany and Saint Jett collided approaching the home turn, checking Saint Jett. Gleaming and Especial Edit collided approaching the home turn, checking Saint Jett. Who Did That and Riverdale Goldie collided on the home turn.
Ulyana Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr M. Delbridge, the trainer of Ulyana Bale regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Ulyana Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr M. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Ulyana Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Riverdale Goldie - the winner of the event.
