A pre-race sample was taken from His Stop It.
Galloping Occy checked off His Stop It approaching the first turn. Riccarton Matt checked off His Stop It on the first turn. Riccarton Matt and Galloping Occy collided on the second turn. Riccarton Matt checked off His Stop It on the third turn. His Stop It and Meat Murphy collided on the fifth turn checking Riccarton Matt and Meat Murphy.
Galloping Occy underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have an abrasion to the left hind foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Galloping Occy - winner of the event.
An investigation and inquiry was opened with Mr Gerry Orr into the integrity of this race and withdrawals of Heaven's Tower and Master Febey from the event. Veterinary Certificates in accordance with GAR 20 (3) (v) have been ordered by Stewards for both greyhounds and Treatment Logbooks requested. The inquiry is ongoing and has been adjourned to a date and time to be fixed.
