Steward's Report
Run Topper, Stratospheric and Little Kevin were slow to begin. Run Topper and Stratospheric collided soon after the start checking Stratospheric. Weeona Evie, Bomber’s Power and Tsunami Oubre collided approaching the first turn checking Bomber’s Power. Run Topper and He Can Talk collided on the first turn. Tsunami Oubre was checked off Jesse Riccarton on the first turn checking He Can Talk and Weeona Evie. Jesse Riccarton eased and turned its head out on the first turn. Jesse Riccarton and Tsunami Oubre collided approaching the home turn. Jesse Riccarton eased and turned its head out in the home straight checking Little Kevin
Jesse Riccarton underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the right front foot. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Helleren, the trainer of Jesse Riccarton regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Jesse Riccarton was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Helleren pleaded guilty to the charge, Jesse Riccarton was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
