A pre-race sample was taken from Magic Rooster.
Mt. View Pearl – New declared weight of 25.5kg, last raced at 24.3kg.
Mad Mav was slow to begin.
Speedy Deed and Magic Rooster collided soon after the start checking Magic Rooster. Emma's Image, Dinkydi Junior and Classy Edition collided approaching the first turn checking Dinkydi Junior. Speedy Deed, Dinkydi Junior, Mt. View Pearl and Mad Mav collided on the first turn. Emma's Image raced wide and visably eased approaching the home turn severely checking Classy Edition. Mt. View Pearl raced wide and visibly eased approaching the home turn checking Emma's Image and Classy Edition. Speedy Deed and Magic Rooster collided on the home turn. Emma's Image, Classy Edition and Mt. View Pearl collided several times on the home turn, entering the home straight and in the home straight .
Emma's Image underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hip injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mrs. Julie Chilcott regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Emma's Image was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge, Emma's Image was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mt. View Pearl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left monkey muscle and left pencil muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Trevor Whitford regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Mt. View Pearl was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Mt. View Pearl was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
