Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Swedish Duchess.
Kuta Cowboy was slow to begin.
Swedish Duchess and Fallen Petal collided soon after the start checking Fallen Petal. Kuta Cowboy and Blue Cascade collided on the first turn checking Kuta Cowboy, Blue Cascade, Dundee Candy and Jafar Bale. Dundee Candy and Blue Cascade collided approaching the home turn checking Blue Cascade and Jafar Bale. Kuta Cowboy and Our Blue Spolly collided on the home turn.
Kuta Cowboy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right sesamoid injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Clint Leviston regarding the racing manners of Kuta Cowboy on the home turn. After hearing evidence from Mr Leviston, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.
There was no head-on vision (back straight) available for this event.
