Steward's Report
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks at all times that in turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race day functions and operations.
Zipping Gucci was slow to begin.
Aston Artemis, Frothy's Jett and Lizzie's Glory collided soon after the start checking Frothy's Jett and Lizzie's Glory. Aston Kayee, Aston Wonder and Bowler's Name collided on the first turn. Lizzie's Glory and Bowler's Name collided on the first turn causing Lizzie's Glory to race wide. Zipping Gucci faltered approaching the home turn and pulled up. Frothy's Jett and Bowler's Name collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Zipping Gucci underwent a post-race veterinary examination and and was found to have no apparent injury. Trainer, Ms H. Collins declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Ms Collins, trainer of Zipping Gucci regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Zipping Gucci was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Gucci was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
