Steward's Report
Palermo Girl and Kraken Albrey were slow to begin. Bull Bar Maisie, Dr. Hamish and Moonlight Cloud collided soon after the start checking Dr. Hamish. Carrara Lad checked off Faith In Bear on the first turn checking Ice Cold Bundy. Moonlight Cloud checked off Faith In Bear approaching the home turn. Palermo Girl checked off Carrara Lad approaching the home turn. Palermo Girl galloped on the heels of Carrara Lad in the home straight. Palermo Girl and Carrara Lad collided approaching the winning post. Carrara Lad marred Palermo Girl approaching the winning post severely checking Palermo Girl and Kraken Albrey causing Palermo Girl to fall.
Palermo Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left stopper pad tear. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
Carrara Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right wrist. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Ashton the trainer of the greyhound Carrara Lad. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Carrara Lad with marring and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Bendigo and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
