Senor Benjamin was quick to begin. Tayler's Special was slow to begin.
Illegal Niki crossed to the rail soon after the start checking She Can Whirl. Santa and Cattogio collided approaching the first turn checking Santa. Senor Bejamin, Spin The Top and Cattogio collided on the first turn checking Spin The Top which fell and severely checked Tayler's Special and She Can Whirl as a result. She Can Whirl checked off Tayler's Special in the home straight.
She Can Whirl was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Spin The Top was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right shoulder and the right back muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
