All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 27.2 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Premier Slice, Deltora Quest and Deed Of Shianne were slow to begin.

Speedy Deed and Farmer's Arms collided on the first turn checking Speedy Deed. Deltora Quest and Speedy Deed collided on the first turn checking Premier Slice and Speedy Deed. Deltora Quest and Deed Of Shianne collided on the home turn. Time Turner and Farmer's Arms collided entering the home straight. Time Turner turned it's heard inwards towards Farmer's Arms in the home straight checking Farmer's Arms.

Time Turner underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Reginald Marriner regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Time Turner was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Marriner pleaded guilty to the charge, Time Turner was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Deltora Quest underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling after the finishing line and was found to have a right flexor tendon injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

All Inn Toffee and Bissaka Spider collided soon after the start. Mt. View Entry, All Inn Toffee and Bissaka Spider collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Mt. View Ginger and Meehan Doozie collided on the first checking Mt. View Ginger. Meehan Doozie raced wide entering the home straight.

Shimmy Over, Alinta's Gift and Aston Roxy collided approaching the first turn checking Shimmy Over, Alinta's Gift, Aston Roxy and Level Neville. Shimmy Over checked off Alinta's Gift on the first turn. Mt. View Dodger and Tinker Calie collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Tinker Calie. Tinker Calie checked off Mt. View Dodger approaching the home turn. Shimmy Over, Level Neville and Tinker Calie collided on the home turn. Level Neville raced wide entering the home straight.

Husky Freckle was slow to begin.

The boxing of greyhounds was aborted due to ducks needing to be cleared from the track.  A false start was declared under GAR 56(1) with all greyhounds being cleared by the veterinary surgeon before the re-start. 

Thundering Don, All Inn Freeman and Southern Thunder were slow to begin.

All Inn Freeman and Grace Cabang collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Thundering Don, All Inn Freeman, Grace Cabang and Southern Thunder collided on the first turn checking Southern Thunder and severley checking Thundering Don

The start of this race was delayed by 2 minutes 20 seconds due to ducks being on the track.

Trout and Luther collided approaching the first turn. Trickster Cabang contacted the running rail on the first turn. Trout and Lektra Desire collided on the first turn.

Luther underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness in the right shin and a right wrist injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Makes Cents went up with the lids at box rise.

All Inn June and Too Far collided on the first turn checking All Inn June, Too Far and Flying Jezza. Makes Cents and Wishly Bale collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Makes Cents and Wishly Bale collided approaching the home turn checking Wishly Bale. All Inn June and Flying Jezza collided approaching the home turn checking All Inn June. Lady Caviar raced wide entering the home straight. Flying Jezza visibly eased in the home straight.

Flying Jezza underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left sesamoid injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Brian Lord regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Flying Jezza was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Lord pleaded guilty to the charge, Flying Jezza was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dundas Houdini was quick to begin.

Jump The Bar and Kraken Bo collided soon after the start. Kraken Bo and Empire Baz collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Empire Baz and severely checking Kraken Bo. Jump The Bar and Diamond White collided approaching the home turn. Dundas Houdini and Jump The Bar collided entering the home straight severely checking Jump The Bar which fell as a result and checked Once A King. Diamond White and Empire Baz collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Evan Keene regarding the racing manners of Dundas Houdini on the home turn  After hearing evidence from Mr. Keene, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.

Jump The Bar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
