All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 27.2 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Premier Slice, Deltora Quest and Deed Of Shianne were slow to begin.

Speedy Deed and Farmer's Arms collided on the first turn checking Speedy Deed. Deltora Quest and Speedy Deed collided on the first turn checking Premier Slice and Speedy Deed. Deltora Quest and Deed Of Shianne collided on the home turn. Time Turner and Farmer's Arms collided entering the home straight. Time Turner turned it's heard inwards towards Farmer's Arms in the home straight checking Farmer's Arms.

Time Turner underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Reginald Marriner regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Time Turner was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Marriner pleaded guilty to the charge, Time Turner was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Deltora Quest underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling after the finishing line and was found to have a right flexor tendon injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
