Steward's Report
Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Kinloch Journey with trainer, Mr J Formosa and noted his comments.
Garage Sale and Flash Angel collided approaching the first turn; checking both greyhounds. Market Legend, Avenger Lass, Zulu Eyes and Kinloch Journey collided on the first turn; checking Market Legend, Avenger Lass and Zulu Eyes. Market Legend turned its head out in the home straight and marred Avenger Lass.
Market Legend underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg quadriceps injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr D Burkett, the trainer of Market Legend regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Market Legend was charged with marring. Mr Burkett pleaded guilty to the charge, Market Legend was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Kinloch Journey underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Avenger Lass underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request - no apparent injury was reported.
