Steward's Report
All staff & participants attending the race-meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
Paul's Happy and Rio Baskin were slow to begin.
Paul's Happy galloped on Rio Baskin soon after the start; checking both greyhounds. Fine Edition and Phil's My Bro collided soon after the start. Rio Baskin and Crackerjack Olly collided approaching the first turn. Fine Edition galloped on Phil's My Bro approaching the first turn; checking Rio Baskin; severely checking Fine Edition. Meat Up contacted the running rail on the first turn and raced wide as a result. Paul's Happy race wide on the first turn. Meat Up galloped on Phil's My Bro approaching the home turn; checking Phil's My Bro; severely checking Paul's Happy and Meat Up, both greyhounds fell as a result. Rio Baskin raced wide approaching the home turn.
Paul's Happy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg shoulder muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Meat Up underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left metacarpal. A five day stand down period was imposed.
