Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Baby Pechey.
Romeo Lad was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Jebrynah Octave and Delancy Bale collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Max Black crossed to the outside on the first turn checking Jebrynah Octave and Dyna Xervo. Baby Pechey visiby eased on the second turn.
Baby Pechey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8. Baby Pechey was found to have a left thigh injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mrs Gail Saunders regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Baby Pechey was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Saunders pleaded guilty to the charge; Baby Pechey was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
