A pre-race sample was taken from Dundee Prince.
Cosmic Vigilante and Cherokee Fawn were slow to begin. Geena Bale and Threadin Mikado collided approaching the first turn checking Geena Bale. Pennine Way and Lady Kin Lee collided approaching the first turn checking Pennine Way. Cosmic Vigilante galloped on Geena Bale on the first turn. Threadin' Mikado and Dundee Prince collided on the first turn checking Dundee Prince. Pennine Way faltered in the back straight and lost considerable ground.
Pennine Way underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
