Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Arancini.
Safe Drop stumbled soon after the start. Veracruz and Aston Sofia collided approaching the first turn checking Veracruz and severely checking Cash No Credit and Safe Drop. Safe Drop checked off Cash No Credit approaching the home turn. Kalkari and Shimmy Over collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Veracruz raced wide entering the home straight. Level Neville and Shimmy Over collided in the home straight.
Shimmy Over underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right and left hind limbs. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Vantaarling regarding the racing manners of Shimmy Over on the home turn. After hearing evidence from Mr. Vantaarling, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
