Why Yes was slow to begin.
Westar Manson eased approaching the first turn. Fire Witch, Karen's Delight and Jodie's Boy collided approaching the home turn, checking Karen's Delight. Why Yes and Fire Witch collided on the home turn.
Westar Manson underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg shoulder muscle and right hindleg triangle injuries. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms L Courts, the handler of Westar Manson, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Westar Manson was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Courts pleaded guilty to the charge, Westar Manson was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
