The start of this race was delayed to start at 9.49pm to allow for remedial work to be conducted on a section of track lighting that failed in the back straight.
Weblec Storm was slow to begin.
Smooth Talker and Midnight Titan collided soon after the start. Mepunga Holly and Selynya Teddy collided approaching the first turn checking Mepunga Holly and Serengeti Icon. Selynya Teddy and Razor's Edge collided on the first turn checking Selynya Teddy, Smooth Talker and Weblec Storm. Smooth Talker and Weblec Storm collided in the back straight.
