Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Lightning Blast.
Razor Burn was slow to begin.
Sailing Shoes crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Through The Dark, Yano Bale and Lightning Blast. Sailing Shoes and Capra collided approaching the first turn. I'm Not Budging, Razor Burn and Smokin' Cindy collided approaching the first turn. Yano Bale and Lightning Blast collided on the first turn. Smokin' Cindy checked off Razor Burn on the first turn. Through The Dark checked off I'm Not Budging entering the back straight checking Razor Burn and Smokin' Cindy. Sailing Shoes eased on the third turn checking I'm Not Budging, Through The Dark, Smokin' Cindy and severely checking Capra. Razor Burn checked off Capra entering the home straight.
Sailing Shoes underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have tarsal sprain to both the let and right hocks. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr R Palmer, trainer of Sailing Shoes regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Sailing Shoes was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Palmer pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sailing Shoes was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Razor Burn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
