Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Just The Marjen.
Late Night Kebab went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Wendy Maria, Carter, All Inn June and Just The Marjen collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds. Belle Curve checked off Late Night Kebab on the first turn and raced wide as a result.Just The Marjen turned it's head outward and collided with Iceni Riddler on the home turn, both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Carter and All Inn June collided on the home turn checking All Inn June. Wendy Maria and Late Night Kebab collided entering the home straight.
Just The Marjen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 11. Just The Marjen was found to have an injury to the neck area. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. D. Jensen, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Just The Marjen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Jensen pleaded not guilty to the charge, Just The Marjen was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Belle Curve underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an elevated temperature. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
