Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Formidable and Pansy Parkinson were slow to begin.

Formidable underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left calf muscle injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to the representative of Dash Of Reyne Mr Corey Grenfell, and catcher Mrs C Brinsley regarding no catcher being appointed for the greyhound. After speaking to both parties stewards took no further action in relation to the incident due to a clear miscommunication, other than to remind both parties of their obligations to ensure all greyhounds in which they are responsible for are caught after the race.

Aragog was quick to begin.  Curly Top, Hebridean Black and Knicks Bale were slow to begin.

Sisco Ride and Weeona Bulldozer collided soon after the start.  Manila Knight and Mepunga Maggie collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Captain Jake crossed to the rail approaching the first turn colliding with Sisco Ride, Polly's Yohanna, Tekki Nibbles and severely checking Captain Jake which contacted the running rail as a result.  Polly's Yohanna and Weeona Bulldozer collided on the first turn and again on the second turn.  Sisco Ride and Captain Jake collided on the second turn.  Polly's Yohanna checked off Weeona Bulldozer approaching the third turn.  Sisco Ride checked off Weeona Bulldozer approaching the home turn.

Stewards spoke to and reminded the Parade Steward of her responsibilities after Stewards noted that Summer Lights was not in formation with the rest of the field when leaving the kennels for this event, and was referred to Club Management. 

Stewards also spoke Mr D Trewin (representing Trainer Ms. T Womann) regarding the matter and after hearing the evidence tendered, Stewards issued a warning to Mr. Trewin and advised he was to be more vigilant when Handlers are leaving the kennel block for their event. Stewards also directed Summer Lights be boxed first for future events.

Star Blazer – Late scratching at 11.56am when Mrs Angela Langton reported the greyhound to have acidosis (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Arizona Eyes was slow to begin.
