Scorching Ember was slow to begin.
Splinter and Akina Cosmo collided soon after the start checking Splinter. Akina Cosmo and Jillissa collided approaching the first turn checking Akina Cosmo. Akina Cosmo and Jillissa collided on the first turn checking Akina Cosmo, Jillissa and Splinter. Splinter checked off Akina Cosmo on the first turn. Splinter and Seaton Star collided approaching the home turn. Scorching Ember raced wide in the home straight.
Seaton Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
