Banyuatis and Ima Maldini were slow to begin.
Billy Moran, Penny La Moment and China Catch 'Em collided on the first turn, checking Penny La Moment. Billy Moran faltered on the first turn and collided with Penny La Moment; Billy Moran tailed off as a result. Banyuatis and Ima Maldini collided approaching the home turn; Banyuatis raced wide as a result.
Billy Moran underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right and left foreleg monkey muscle injuries. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry with Trainer Mr Lewis Green into the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal of his seven greyhounds from this afternoon's race meeting through injury. Pursuant to GAR 20 (3)(v), Stewards ordered that prior to any further nominations being accepted for the greyhounds Glorious One, Black Strat, Lucky Yap, So Bright, Burner Black, Spring Kissed and Scully, that individual Veterinary Certificate's are produced to the satisfaction of Stewards. Stewards have also requested the greyhounds treatment records for review. The matter was adjourned for further investigation.
