Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

This event was delayed by one minute, due to Sky Channel committments for Port Macquarie thoroughbreds.

Grand Warrior and Wee Fishin' were slow to begin.

Grand Warrior checked off Bush Panther on the first turn.  Bush Panther galloped on the heels of Nyssa's Girl on the first turn; checking Wee Fishin' and severely checking Nyssa's Girl.  Blue Bonnet checked off Max Ruby in the home straight.  Night To Burn eased and  turned its head inwards on two occasions approaching the winning post and collided with Blue Bonnet.

Night To Burn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg shoulder joint injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr K Goodwin regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Night To Burn was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Goodwin pleaded guilty to the charge, Night To Burn must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Swordfish Fozz faltered soon after the start and pulled up.  Collquin Vincent, Ronny Mac and Glorious One collided soon after the start.  Marli Ann and Tinker Scott collided approaching the first turn, checking Marli Ann.  Swamp Donkey checked off Tinker Scott approaching the home turn.  Marli Ann and Tinker Scott collided several times approaching the home turn and again in the home straight, checking Marli Ann.

Swordfish Fozz underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg monkey and right hindleg back muscle injuries.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
