Shamrock Mist was slow to begin.
Galaxy Horse and Goldie's Ridge collided soon after the start, checking Goldie's Ridge. Galaxy Horse, Taipan Jill, Five Bucks Down and One Point Five collided on the first turn, checking Taipan Jill and Five Bucks Down. One Point Five checked off Taipan Jill approaching the home turn. Shamrock Mist and One Point Five collided approaching the home turn. Shamrock Mist checked off Goldie's Ridge entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.
One Point Five underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
